Life is Just a Merry-Go-Round
THE SUBJECT:
Mr Fuji and I were on the prowl for some candid shots when I noticed the shadows which were made by the circling kids on a roundabout flashing over me and along the path. I had never tried anything like this before so it was a real challenge.
THE LOCATION:
The photograph was made at the annual agricultural show at Wauchope, NSW, Australia, on a very bright, sunny autumn day at the ”wrong time”.
THE MAKING of ‘Life is Just a Merry-Go-Round’:
This one has been sitting in my backlog from my Fuji S5500 days and I have never been able to work out just what to do with it until now. It was shot in B&W and was as flat as a tack so it really did need some digital developing if I was to make something of it.
RAW, 1/1000sec @ f/4, -0.3 EC, ISO100.
Lightroom 1.1 & Photoshop CS3.
Oh! And no cropping either!

UPDATE: 8-9-09
These fleeting shadows were awarded a CREDIT in the Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club’s August 2009 Competition in the Open Large Monochrome Print Section.
Enjoy!
