Beachcombings - Seahorses
THE SUBJECT:
From the moment I saw this and the other six high tide mark scenes I thought of making an abstract series – something very new to me.
I feel this diptych is the best of the series so decided to see how it looked in a side by side arrangement. I like it!
(By the way, it is not really a seahorse just a piece of seaweed that looks like one).
THE LOCATION:
The series was shot on Wash House Beach, Dunbogan, NSW, Australia, on a very grey summer day.
THE MAKING of ‘Beachcombings – Seahorses’:
As the processing evolved the idea grew to include a completely different mirrored images to the original and the idea to process, present and display them like this took root.
My idea for an exhibition display is to have front lighting on the top image and back lighting to the bottom image. I think it would be very effective.
