Blind Window
THE SUBJECT:
A dilapidated loft window, its slats missing and frame rotting stares out one eyed from a bare shed wall on a rural property.
THE LOCATION:
West of Port Macquarie, through Wauchope to Beechwood and on to Pappinbarra along the Upper Pappinbarra Road.
THE MAKING of ‘Blind Window’:
Out on a day trip with two Port Macquarie Panthers Camera Club friends we came across this large and decaying old wooden shed partly in shadow under a large spreading tree.
I was able to get a clear shot of this window but as the light was so low I set the pop-up flash to full power so I could use the 1/60sec shutter speed and to throw at least some light up onto the window.
Fuji S9600: RAW, f/4 @ 1/60sec, Manual focus, ISO80, Hand held.
Lightroom 1.1 & Photoshop CS3.
I have printed this on Ilford Galerie Smooth High Gloss Media and it turned out beautifully.

This unblinking window has been featured in the Former DPF Members Group.
Enjoy!
