Candid Hats in the Oz Day Crowd
THE SUBJECT:
This little candid scene was spotted in the crowd at the 2006 Australia Day celebrations.
THE LOCATION:
Shot on the Town Green beside the Hastings River in Port Macquarie, NSW, Australia.
THE MAKING of ‘Candid Hats in the Oz Day Crowd’:
A difficult photograph to make as I bobbed about trying to get a clear view through the milling crowd but definitely worth the effort.
Fuji S5500: High resolution jpg, Hand held.
Lightroom 1.1 & Photoshop CS3.
UPDATE:
This fine B&W not only won the Monochrome Section of the 2007 Northern Zone NSW Camera Clubs Open Competition but was also named Top Shot for the whole show.
I am a very happy snappy chappy!
UPDATE:
Since uploading the original to my portfolio I have received some very good critiques on this photograph from many sectors. However, when I set about implementing the suggestions, I discovered to my horror that my archival psd file was gone – kaput!. So the image you see now is a complete rework straight from my original high resolution jpg file.
